Emotive Virtualscapes
Set up within the Cyberpunk Singapore exhibition was a collaborative installation I designed with a programmer and technical consultants. The installation utilised components of Human-Computer interfaces in order to speculate on a future where virtual states are omniscient and highly personalised.

Without a click, touch or any button, the visualised virtual world will change and adapt to oneʼs emotion and thoughts, generating endless possibilities of virtual realities and identities that live through the mind.

This installation visualised the three possibilities of such neuro-technology’s consequences within society as represented within cyberpunk, in the form of motion graphic gifs:
a) A synthesis where human identities adapt and change alongside the virtual reality.
b) A utopic, humanist view wherein this will be the next stage in our evolution as the posthuman.
c) A dystopic, fearful view wherein this will be the end of humankind and human identities as
we understand and know it.

HOW TO INTERACT

At the exhibition, people stood in front of the webcam
( limited to one person only ) & held an expression- happy, sad, or angry. The program would play pre-programmed visual immediately after detecting the expression. The person could change expressions and try this out multiple times.
